You will get a conformation e-mail when we get your registration and when we accept your registration. If you have competed before, you can write in your name on the WCA website in the search box and you can find it. (It' a 10 character long text.)

No, because only competitors are allowed to judge and scramble, and on Saturday you will not be a competitor.

If it's your first competition you will need to bring some kind of card/paper with photo for identification (ID Card, Student Card, Passport), if you are under 18 years you will need a Parent consent, and your puzzles. (On the competition everybody uses their own puzzles.)

We will send you the grouping on the week before the competition.

17) Is it possible to use one of my friends puzzle for competing? No, the reservation of accommodation will be made individually. You can find a suitable accommodation on the booking.com website.

25) The 170 competitors limit is valid for the events separately?
No, this number is valid for the total number of the registered competitors.

26) How long does it take to accept my registration?
The international bank transfer could take 4-5 business days to arrive. We are getting a new list about the arrived payments on every Thursday so we can accept new registrations on that days only.

Of course you shouldn't. You will get your ticket at the competition.

29) My parents/friends want to come to the competition as guests. Where can they buy a ticket?
You cannot buy it pre-emption, just at the venue.

30) Is it true, that in Sunday morning I can bring only 1 guest to the venue? What rules are concerned about this?
  • On Sunday before the lunch break (8:20-12:50) only one guest per competitor can stay at the venue.
  • Competitors need to write the name of this 1 guest in the "Comment" box during WCA registration.
  • The guest ticket for all Sunday costs: 1.000 Ft. (Saturday: 500 Ft, Sunday - afternoon only: 500 Ft)
  • The guests who are allowed to enter to the venue will get a ticket with their names on it, so it cannot be given to somebody else.
  • Competitors can modify the name of their guest for Sunday morning until the 10th of March, 2017 - 16:00 on the hungarianopen.info@gmail.com e-mail address.
  • If a competitor writes more names in the "Comment" box, we will use take only the first name valid.
  • There is no need to give the names of those guests who will come on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoon only!
  • Sunday morning guests will get a ticket with their names on it, so if on the 10th of March, 2017 16:00 there is a guest name given with your registration, you will have to pay the guest fee, even if your guest doesn't show up. (In case nor you nor your guest will show up, you will have to pay the guest fee at our next competition.)

  • This rule is needed to ensure the comfort to the competitors which they need. Last years there were so many guests in the room that there were competitors who could not sit down.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in advance!
