A Smart Egg competition will be organized too this year at the Hungarian Open 2015.

Smart Egg is a Hungarian invention, a logic puzzle that in 2012 won the Jury Grand Prize at the World Puzzle Championship Grand Prix Award in Washington.

The Egg is a 3D labyrinth, you have to drive a wand through it, that's how you solve the puzzle. Smart Egg competitors will have to do better than this though: they'll have to solve 3 Eggs in a row in the shortest time they can.

There is a whole collection of Smart Egg puzzles: 12 Eggs in the 1 layer series and 3 in the 2 layer series, each Egg design a different labyrinth, puzzles of various difficulty levels.

By solving the 1 layer Eggs, you will find out many tricks and you'll surely be ready for the Dragons: Blue Dragon, the easiest dragon, Red Dragon, the next, and Black Dragon of the highest difficulty level.

Winners of the Smart Egg competition (the 3 best), as well as the winners of the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube event (the 3 best) win the Dragon Eggs: Black Dragon goes to the champion, the 2nd best wins Red Dragon and the 3rd best wins Blue Dragon.


(Dragon Eggs are not commercially available yet in Hungary.)

Registration to the Smart Egg competition is available for all the competitors registered for the Hungarian Open 2015.

Rules of the competition:

* We have chosen 3 Eggs from the 1-layer series for the speedsolving competition - Groovy, Jester and Skull - competitors will have to solve these in row.
* You can register to the competition at the Smart Egg desk, your time will be measured there as well.
* You can practice speedsolving the Eggs on Friday and Saturday, and you can also decide on competing from the very beginning: Qualification Round starts on Friday.
* Smart Egg Final will take place on Sunday before the 3x3x3 Final. You can do your qualification attempts until 2 hours before the final.
* Every competitor will have 5 official attempts in the Qualification Round, the best time will be considered.
* 8 competitors qualify for the Final.
* Every finalist will have 3 attempts, the best time will be considered.
